- MAKKAH: A Saudi judge in Makkah ordered a 17-year-old Saudi to leave his courtroom for dressing inappropriately, Shams newspaper reported.
- The young Saudi had been brought to court by Makkah police.
When the judge saw him dressed in low-waist jeans, he became angry, threw him out and refused to review the case until he dressed decently. A Sudanese man waiting outside the courtroom loaned the young man his traditional Sudanese thobe for the duration of the hearing to allow the teenager to enter the courtroom. The judge allowed the teenager to stand in front of him when he saw him in the Sudanese dress.
