- ZURICH: Thailand could be disqualified from the 2012 London Olympic qualifying tournament for reportedly fielding an ineligible player in a match against Palestine.
FIFA says it is investigating the case but has not decided if Thailand broke rules, which could allow Palestine to advance instead.
Thailand eliminated Palestine on penalties in March after a second-leg match in the West Bank. It was the first competitive international match played in Palestinian.
However, FIFA is studying whether Thailand midfielder Sucharit Chanthakul should have served a suspension when he played in the first leg.
Thailand is scheduled to play Bahrain in a two-leg series on June 19 and 23 in the second round of Asian qualifying.
