Princess Lolowah Al-Faisal said, “The exhibition proves that Saudi women are able to become strategic partners in the development and advancement of the country.” She added that this exhibition offered an opportunity for Saudi women to get more experience in international economic exhibitions.

Haia Al Sinaidi, head of the organizing committee, called for the establishment of an exhibition center in Jeddah that is capable of hosting no less than 100 events a year. She also stressed the need for establishing institutions specialized in training Saudi female jewelry designers, which might help in providing more job opportunities in the market.

Visitors were disappointed after they were informed on the first day of the exhibition that the most valuable bag in the world, worth SAR 14 million, would not be available.

However, other valuable and rare jewelry pieces, diamonds and gems were displayed in the exhibition, including a Columbian mineral stone that dates back to the reign of Shah Jahan of India. Another piece was a necklace that was originally a gift to an Italian princess and is worth $11 million.

The exhibition also hosted the second competition between young Saudi designers.

This year, 15 young designers of both genders will compete to present their exclusive creations and reveal their talents. Last year three out of 11 Saudi women won in the competition and were offered a booth at the exhibition this year to display their collections.
