The Ipsos-Apoyo poll has Humala preferred by 39 percent of voters against 38 percent for Keiko Fujimori. Fourteen percent said they wouldn’t vote for either candidate, and 9 percent were undecided. The margin of error was 2.2 percentage points.

An April 24 Ipsos-Apoyo poll showed Humala leading 42 percent to 35 percent. Humala vows to redistribute wealth to favor Peru’s poor. Fujimori also calls herself a candidate of the poor but is friendlier to the free market.

The two will compete in a June 5 runoff.
