The arrest followed a close observation of the suspect’s hideout by the police.

“Police investigators have seized 48 forged government stamps, and several forged identification cards of expatriates and Saudi residents. The arrest was made outside the suspect’s house as he was attempting to deliver an envelope to one of his associates. The suspect himself was holding a forged iqama,” said spokesman for Jeddah police Brig. Misfer Al-Juaid

Meanwhile, five people in their 20s were arrested in southern Jeddah recently. The suspects, all of them of African origin, were involved in mugging several people after threatening them with knives and machetes, police said.

“Police made the arrests following a distress call from a Pakistani national who was mugged on his way to deposit SR150,000 in the bank. The victim contacted the police immediately, and a full-fledged police operation resulted in the suspects' arrest at a rented house in south Jeddah,” said Brig. Al-Juaid.

He said SR120,000 was recovered from the house, and investigators were currently questioning the suspects to find out about other crimes they might have committed.
