- RIYADH: The Saudi government has strongly condemned the assassination of Hasan Misfar Al-Qahtani, a Saudi diplomat in Karachi, an official spokesman of the Foreign Ministry said in a statement in Riyadh today, Monday.
- Al-Qahtani was murdered while he was on his way to work.
The ministry, which says it is closely closely following the investigation into the drive-by killing, has demanded that Pakistan tightens security at both the consulate in Karachi and the embassy in Islamabad, and for Saudi diplomatic staff in the country.
Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal has conveyed his condolences to the father and the family of the murdered man.
The Saudi government has sent a plane to bring back diplomat's body to the Kingdom, the Saudi Press Agency said.
