“We have to show to the world that Islam and its system is the best by practicing its teachings in all walks of our lives,” the governor said while addressing students at the Scientific Institute in Jeddah, an affiliate of Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University.

“We have to be prepared to develop ourselves and improve our style and methods, develop all our administration and adopt ways and means of progress to achieve our goals,” the governor said. Prince Khaled spoke about God’s blessing on the Kingdom, which enabled the country to achieve its position among advanced countries. “The first of these blessings is Islam, which is the foundation on which this country is built. Our society is born and brought up on this religion. It’s the greatest honor for the Saudi man to be the citizen of a country whose constitution is the Qur’an and Sunnah,” he said.

“Islam will remain the constitution and way of life for the Muslim Ummah. It’s a religion of civilization, progress and prosperity. It’s not the religion of backwardness or violence or extremism or the religion of discord and dissension,” he said.

Prince Khaled emphasized his resolve to take the province to first-world standards. “This is not an easy task but not impossible. It needs serious efforts and perseverance and above all the will. We are now working to develop our administration,” he said.

Prince Khaled emphasized the importance of knowledge for the success of any plan or project. “Let me tell you frankly that we’ll not be able to implement any plan or strategy without knowledge,” he said.

He said the Islamic Ummah had spent a long time in ignorance and poverty. “Many believe that it was due to the conspiracy of enemies. Be it conspiracy or not, we have to move quickly to achieve greater progress and prosperity without depending on others.”
