- ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Information Minister Firdous Aashiq Awan will carry Friday an important message from President Asif Ali Zardari to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah during her visit to Riyadh.
Awan told media here on Thursday Pakistan was facing hard times and that Saudi Arabia is the best friend of Pakistan.
Awan said Osama Bin Laden was the most wanted criminal in Pakistan but, “We feel Pakistan’s sovereignty was violated by the US unilateral action on May 2 in Abbottabad.” Awan said Saudi Arabia plays a very important role in Pakistan’s foreign policy. He said: “We need not revisit our ties with the Kingdom, because we feel our relationship is a time tested, all-season friendship.”
Awan said Pakistan wants regional peace and security through improving relations with its neighbors Afghanistan and India.
Awan’s visit to Riyadh is taking place while Pakistan is working on its national budget for 2011-2012 and its economy is still makers with declining trends.
