- BELGRADE, Serbia: The family of genocide fugitive Ratko Mladic have sued the Serbian state claiming police confiscated nearly €15,000 ($21,000) from their home in a search last year.
Lawyer Milos Saljic says that Mladic’s wife Bosiljka and son Darko have demanded that the authorities return the money that was taken away from their house in a residential part of Belgrade last February.
Saljic said Friday that a hearing will be held on Monday.
He says the family has also requested that Mladic’s daughter-in-law be allowed to return to work at state-run Telekom, claiming she was fired illegally.
The family insists they have faced harassment over the former Bosnian Serb army commander who is wanted by a UN
tribunal over the massacre in 1995 of 8,000 Muslims from Srebrenica.
