- JEDDAH: Border Guard personnel in Yanbu have rescued two damaged boats in the past three days.
They also took a citizen bitten by a poisonous fish to hospital, spokesman of the force Capt. Naeem Al-Johani announced on Monday.
He said a citizen informed the command and control room that his boat had broken down in the middle of the sea. Immediately, a rescue team was dispatched to the location and the boat was towed to safety.
Another boat carrying four people broke down at Al-Birkiya area and was towed to the shore, according to the spokesman. He said all four voyagers including the boat owner were in good health.
The spokesman asked all skippers to take necessary precautions, including keeping away from dangerous areas, taking safety equipment with them and carrying communications equipment.
