- RIYADH: Twenty-eight Filipino men who had been charged and sentenced to prison for petty crimes were pardoned recently, according to John Leonard Monterona, Migrante Middle East regional coordinator.
“Our sources inside the prison said the OFW (Overseas Filipino Worker) inmates are now being cleared,” Monterona told Arab News Wednesday. After that they will be booked for repatriation to the Philippines,” Monterona told Arab News on Wednesday.
The Philippine Embassy would not comment on the news.
Earlier, 29 female OFWs accused of petty crimes were pardoned. They left for the Philippines on May 17.
