The candidates for the award are businessmen and businesswomen, scholars and economists from Makkah who have played an important role in the field of social responsibility. The award consists of a certificate of appreciation from the governor.

Sources involved in the prize said they take into account a number of factors in deciding the winner, including the achievement of the vision and mission of the cultural committee of the region’s council and the realization of excellence in the works presented for evaluation.

Sheikh Saleh Kamel, chairman of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, businessman Abdul Rahman and Abdul Maksoud Khoja won the prize in its first two sessions.

The awards will be given away at a function in Jeddah on June 18.
