- ANKARA, Turkey: Turkey says 35 Syrians wounded in clashes in northern Syria have been receiving medical treatment at Turkish hospitals near the border with Syria.
Local authorities say Tuesday that the wounded have crossed into Turkey from the town of Jisr Al-Shughour, where Syrian forces and protesters have engaged in violent clashes for days. Authorities say the situation on the Syrian side of the border is unclear.
The Foreign Ministry says, apart from the 35 treated at hospitals, 224 Syrians have also been sheltered at a camp near the border.
Authorities say there is no sign of an influx of Syrian refugees but they are taking measures for such development.
