- PUNE: Bitten by the sarcastic remarks by senior Congress leader and party general secretary Digvijay Singh, social activist and ant-corruption crusader Anna Hazare lashed out at Singh on Tuesday for alleging in Jammu that Hazare was a mask of the Hindu militant organization Rashtriya Sevak Sangh (RSS) like the yoga guru Ramdev and was being used to divert attention from the arrest of RSS members in a terror case.
Speaking to reporters in Jammu on Monday, Singh alleged that the Bharatiaya Janata Party (BJP) and RSS formulated the plan and first made Ramdev as its mask and then Hazare. 'I respect Hazare as he is a Gandhian but, unfortunately he is surrounded by wrong people," Singh was alleged to have said.
Hazare, hitting out at Singh, asked him no to speak nonsense and to first present evidence before the people of the country that he was a RSS mask.
"I am not a mask of any political party. Singh should better check himself. In my view Singh is a mentally sick person when he makes such baseless unproven charges," Hazare told journalists at his Ralegaon Siddhi village in Ahmednagar district.
