- CAIRO: A number of Egyptian actors have expressed their anger and sadness about the deterioration of the political situation in Egypt.
Egyptian actress Sabreen said in a TV interview lately that she had never liked Israel, but she deplored the attack on the Israeli Embassy last Friday, especially given the agreements between the two countries. She said that she did agree, however, with demolishing the wall surrounding the embassy.
She said that storming the embassy would damage the reputation of Egypt internationally. Actress Hala Sidqi said that if the current situation continued like this, then dark days were waiting for Egypt. She said that the Ahli fans’ riot against police and storming of the Israeli embassy were negative signs that things were getting out of control. She added that the military counsel should use force against the violators who are destroying the country.
Veteran actor Hasn Yousuf also said that the latest events in Egypt were raising the question of who are behind these events in an attempt to destabilize Egypt. He said that Egyptians should stop and search for those who are trying to divide the country. Yousuf urged the military counsel to crush the internal organizations that are sparking violence.
