- BEIRUT: Sudan hopes to increase sugar production to 2 million tons a year from its current annual level of 600,000 tons, presidential adviser Mustafa Osman Ismail said.
He did not say when Sudan hoped to reach the 2 million ton output level.
Ismail was speaking at a conference in Beirut aimed at attracting Lebanese investment in Sudan’s agricultural and mineral sectors.
He said he hoped to bring $2 billion worth of Lebanese investment to his country.
