- ABHA: A 30-year-old Saudi is believed to have stabbed to death his father in the southern city of Bisha on Thursday.
During the attack, the man also allegedly injured his mother, sister and house servant before running away from the site.
Maj. Abdullah Shaathan, spokesman of Asir police, confirmed the crime and said officers have arrested the man.
“The incident took place at his parent's home. He broke into the house and stabbed his mother several times. Later he stabbed his sister and the maid before attacking his father,” Shaathan said.
Police cordoned off the area soon after receiving a report about the crime and the type of vehicle he was traveling in. Baha police later arrested him in Baljurashi, an informed source told Arab News.
Police have taken the injured to hospital and their condition is stable, the source said, adding that the father died at the scene.
People in Bisha were shocked hearing the news and expressed their concern over such criminal incidents.
“It is sickening to hear of such incidents in our country. Respecting and taking care of parents is one of the basic teachings of our religion,” one resident said.
