- JEDDAH: Al-Shabab brought down Al-Hilal 2-0 on a pair of goals by Nasser Al-Shamrani in a second round match on Thursday in the Saudi League at King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh.
Shamrani scored Shabab’s goals in the 21st and 75th minutes. The victory gave Shabab six points from two matches. The Riyadh-based club won its first game against Al-Faisaly 3-2.
Taawon beat Hajer 2-1. Badr Al Kamees and Abdulrazak Al-Hussain scored in the 48th and 74th minutes for Taawon, while Mubarak Al-Khondhari scored Hajer’s lone goal in the 50th minute.
Al-Ittifaq beat host team Najran 3-0 thanks to a brace by Sebastian Tegali and a goal by Yousuf Al-Salem. Tegali converted a penalty kick in the 82nd minute after an earlier goal in the 20th minute while Al-Salem found the net in the 41st minute.
Abdulrahman Rajah of Najran was shown the red card in the 79th minute.
On Friday, the second round action continues with Al Ahli taking on Al Nasr at the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium, Al-Raed meeting Al-Faisaly at the King Abdullah Sports Citt Stadium and Al-Ansar hosting Al-Qadisia at the Alansar Club Stadium.
