- JEDDAH: The Saudi stock market rose for a third day, led by petrochemical companies and banks.
- The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) closed 1.68 percent or 101.97 points higher at 6,173.49 — the highest level since Aug.
Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC) shares closed at SR94, up 2.45 percent - the highest level since Sept. 11. National Industrialization Co. (Tasnee) gained 4.10 percent to SR40.60 - the highest since Aug. 3.
In the banks and financial services sector, shares in Al-Rajhi Bank, the Kingdom’s largest lender by market value, climbed 1.08 percent to SR70.25. The stock market turnover exceeded SR4.53 billion on Saturday.
According to information available on Tadawul website on Saturday, the extraordinary general assembly of Saudi Fisheries Co. approved the company’s capital increase through a rights issue on Wednesday. The share price as on Wednesday has been adjusted to SR24.10.
Meanwhile, Banque Saudi Fransi announced that Alain Massierra, the representative of the foreign partner, Banque Calyon, in the bank’s board of director, has submitted his resignation as a director in the bank’s board of directors, with effect from Sept. 15. The name of the new director will be announced after securing the approval of the concerned authorities for his appointment, the bank said in a statement on Tadawul website.
Tadawul announced that the stock market would be closed on Sept. 24 for Saudi National Day.
