The woman, who came from Yanbu to Madinah on Sunday in the company of her uncle, claimed that Haia personnel attacked her the moment she arrived in the holy city.

She said she came to Madinah by bus from Yanbu to apply for a license from the Saudi Authority for Health Specializations to practice medicine.

The woman said she and her uncle hired a taxi to take them to the authority’s office, but as the driver did not know the exact location, he passed through many alleys.

“Two unknown cars stopped us on the way. Five men got out and started attacking me. They tore my veil and pulled me out of the taxi by force,” she said.

The woman, who was not identified, said the Haia men pushed her into one of their cars and humiliated her all the way as if they had caught a criminal.

The men started to apologize when they were sure of her identity, but it was too late, as “the damage had already been done," she said.
