- RIYADH: A delegation from Harvard University was briefed on the Diriyah Development Program being implemented by the High Commission for the Development of Arriyadh (HCDA) in collaboration with the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities.
“The delegation wanted to know more about the development program in Diriyah, which is also being implemented in Taif district,” an ADA spokesman said on Tuesday.
He said the delegation came to the Kingdom as part of efforts to look for a model for postgraduate studies on aspects of cultural development programs.
He added that the delegation was briefed on a number of ADA programs and visited projects such as embassies, King Abdulaziz Historical Institute, environmental projects, including Wadi Hanifa, and various parks.
“The delegation also attended workshops, in which university representatives participated along with specialists from the commission that undertakes the development program of Diriyah,” the spokesman said.
The Harvard delegation included Richard Readily, head of urban development and founder of the Council of Experts; B. Wang, an architecture graduate school professor; and Saira Hashmi, assistant professor.
