“Security officers witnessed the three riding a Toyota Tercel. The officers asked the passengers for their identification, and a search of the vehicle was conducted where six bags of scrap metal were found along with six containers of paint,” said Jeddah police spokesman Brig. Misfer Al-Juaid.

Al-Juaid said the three suspects were transferred to Al-Muntazahat police station where further investigations were conducted.

“During police questioning the three confessed to investigators that they had stolen the items from a yard. Also, while running their name in the police database it was found that the three suspects were wanted in connection with different criminal acts in the city,” said Al-Juaid.

The suspects are still in police custody until they are formally charged
