To be a writer among other good writers in this balanced and well-circulated newspaper drives me to whistle and chant.

I regret one thing though. I write here for the first time as a permanent writer (I wrote before but occasionally) while my great friend and one of the most influential journalists in the country Khaled Almaeena is no longer the editor.

On the other hand I continue the march with my dear friend Abdulwahab Al-Faiz whom I respect, love and admire and have worked with in Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper. I have also been involved in many other social activities with him for a long time. Of course whatever (he) is going to pay me for writing in the Arab News is not at all behind those feelings of love and admiration. Believe me!

Ok, let me start by telling you what do I believe in.

I believe that there are some things in this life that are important and a whole lot of things aren’t. It does take too much trouble, which is which. There are issues, matters, cases, and news that are not so important. Some of them hold no value whatsoever. Of course we do have naïve and platitudinous things in our daily lives and that is very accepted. But there is a very important condition we have to understand; do not mistake the trivia for what is really important.

And… to get the most out of life we have to keep all our options open, and to keep our minds flexible. Flexibility in my solid belief is an act of wisdom. Flexibility is the secret that everyone should know to help lead a life full of compliancy and create this congruence within ourselves inside and outside. Complying with those beliefs will lead us to achieve the perfect rhythm of life.

I also firmly believe that my opinions and interpretations of any matters, theories or beliefs are mine only; I can defend them, or keep them, or even give them away. And I ought to respect the same right for the other. How to define good and bad also falls in our circle of our own business. And we ought to give the same right to the other, as well.

Something else; I believe that other people know as much as I know, and at some circumstances and in some positions they even know more. More than I do.

My friends, I guess it would be fair and logical to start by telling you some of my concrete principles and beliefs before I sail on in the sea of writing here. And by the way my friends, what about your own beliefs?
