Samuels was 88 not out while Simmons hit a confident 80 as West Indies reached the winning target of 221 inside 43 overs.

Bangladesh had recovered from 3-1 to post 220 all out, but its failure to make early inroads into the West Indies' top order made it easy for the visitors, who won the first match by 40 runs.

"It was an all-round team effort," West Indies captain Darren Sammy said. "The way we went about our job, the bowlers stuck to their plan and the batsmen are taking responsibility." It took until the first ball of the 17th over for Bangladesh to make its first breakthrough when former captain Shakib Al Hasan had Danza Hyatt caught by Rubel Hossain for 39 with West Indies already on 71.

Simmons hit three sixes and as many boundaries for his 80 off 125 balls before he was trapped lbw by Shakib to leave West Indies on 182-2. Samuels and Darren Bravo took West Indies past the winning target.

Bangladesh skipper Mushfiqur Rahim used eight bowlers but Shakib was the only man to be successful, while West Indies' wickets were spread among five bowlers.

Kemar Roach claimed 3-49, Ravi Rampaul took 2-27 and Sammy finished with 2-42.

Bangladesh was three wickets down after two overs. Rampaul dismissed Imrul Kayes for a duck with the fourth ball of the innings, before fellow opener Tamim Iqbal went for 1 in the next over, caught by Andre Russel off Roach.

Bangladesh was 3-1 when Sammy caught Mohammad Ashraful to give Roach his second wicket and the hosts quickly slumped to 18-4 with the departure of Shakib in the fifth over.

Mushfiqur steadied the ship with two boundaries and one six in his 69 and Nassir Hossain's fluent 50 gave Bangladesh a chance of victory, but Simmons and Samuels led West Indies home.
