The seminar invited the attention of engineering students to various openings offered by IEEE, the largest engineering professional accreditation organization, to its members including students and teachers.

Bander Ahmad Allaf, the founder and chairman of IEEE PES Chapter in the Western region of Saudi Arabia, explained the benefits of becoming an IEEE member.

The benefits include access to e-magazines, 350 e-learning courses and over 30 scholarships, fellowships and awards and IEEE extreme programming competitions.

Dheya Shujaa Al-Othmany, assistant professor Nuclear Engineering Department, Nazeeh Al-Othmany and Althaf Abdul Gaffar, presented papers on various topics.

"The seminar was quite useful as it motivated us to explore more about our specializations," said Majid Al-Harbi, an electrical engineering student.

The event, organized by the Faculty of Engineering at KAU, also witnessed the launching of the IEEE computer society chapter for the Western region.
