Addressing the society’s general assembly meeting, chairwoman Princess Adela bint Abdullah said one year ago the organization was focused on setting up a strong base, making connections, determining its priorities, and benefiting from others' experiences.

She confirmed that the Kingdom is taking the first steps in preserving heritage, adding that the organization depends on society's help to preserve the Kingdom’s historical heritage, protect it and revitalize it.

SHPS Secretary-General Saad Al-Rashed presented the society's annual financial report.

The society’s achievements and future plans, including the mechanism to support establishments, institutes and scientific centers concerned with heritage in the Kingdom, were discussed at the meeting.

Members of the society stressed the importance of cooperating with organizations that share the same interest to develop private museums and cultural troupes. They said the organization contributes to enriching knowledge and raising the awareness of citizens about their heritage and the need to preserve it.

The SHPS works closely with concerned agencies on projects to renovate and rehabilitate heritage and historical sites and preserve them. It cooperates with similar organizations and associations within the Kingdom and abroad to serve its goals and visions.
