- (STC) group recently visited the headquarters of International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Geneva where the delegation held meetings with the secretary general of the union, sectors' managers and high executives in the union.
The STC delegation was headed by Saad Bin Dhafer Alqahtani, the group's CEO of strategic operations, and included Mahmoud Bin Abdul Alkarim Alkhateeb, VP for regulatory affairs; Abdullah Bin Mohammed Alhomeadan, VP for human capital; Ali Bin Abdullah Alomari, international affairs supervisor; and Naser Bin Mohammed Algarni, director of coordination and communication with the international union.
The delegation held a series of meetings with the secretary general of the union, sectors' managers and high executives in the union, during which means of enhancing future cooperation between STC and the union were discussed.
The most significant output of these meetings was the invitation from the union to STC to join the Broadband Commission, an international and UN subsidiary, and in connection with the Connect Arab States Summit organized by ITU in March 2012.
