Police officials said that one policeman died and eight others were wounded when their patrols were hit in three separate roadside bombings eastern and northeastern Baghdad on Tuesday. Two passersby were also injured in the attacks.

Two health officials in two hospitals confirmed the casualties.

All officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to release the information.

On Monday, police and health officials said four separate attacks against traffic police in Baghdad killed two policemen and three civilians.
