Saudi Telecom Co. (STC) is keen to share its customers their national occasions, and help them communicate with their families at the least prices. The company offered postpaid, SAWA and LANA customers a reduction of 50 percent, on the occasion of the national day of the Republic of Turkey. This initiative aims to enable customers to get more information about their families and friends after the disaster in Turkey. Reduction includes outgoing voice and video calls, SMS and MMS on Oct.  29 for 24 hours. This plan comes along with other similar offers to various countries. The STC has introduced several plans to enable the STC customers “citizens and residents” to enjoy offered reductions on calls to their families and relatives in their countries at half the real cost.

Averda will address key environment issues at the Arab Forum for Environment and Development (AFED) 2011. The company will also share the latest innovations that demonstrate its position as a pro-active environmental leader, and facilitator of community engagement. Averda will use AFED as a platform to discuss its responsibilities for establishing sustainable environmental practices mainly in the countries in which the company operates. Maysarah Sukkar, chairman of Averda, will take part in a panel tackling ‘greening tourism and waste’ and will highlight the need for a call to action. AFED participants will be able to join an on-going initiative called “Protect Lebanon, Recycle Today”, allowing the visitors to deposit their recyclable plastic bottles and cans in a reverse vending machine (RVM). “Protect Lebanon, Recycle Today” was launched in July by the joint efforts of Servicorp — an Averda company, Nestle and Spinneys to encourage recycling in Lebanon and divert waste from the landfill. “AFED presents a unique platform through which we discuss the future of green solutions with industry peers and like-minded business partners,” said Sukkar.
