- DUBAI: Prominent Saudi attorney Dr.
- Khalid Alnowaiser is to play a leading part in the largest legal annual conference of the International Bar Association at the Dubai World Trade Center.
He will participate in three sessions of the event. In the first session, presided over by Judge Richard Goldstone, Alnowaiser will submit his research paper on legal dimensions and their relationship to developments experienced by countries in the region.
In the second session, he will submit a research paper on the importance of judicial independence in ensuring freedom for individuals and society.
In the third and final session, Alnowaiser will discuss the role of law firms and their ongoing responsibility to provide volunteer work and services.
The conference is being held under the patronage of the Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum.
As well as Judge Goldstone, President of the International Bar Association Akira Kawamura, judges, jurists, ministers of justice, senior international lawyers and prominent world figures are attending the event.
The conference is expected to address several important papers on energy, the environment, natural resources, human rights and intellectual property, among others.
The International Bar Association annual conference is considered the most important meeting of lawyers from all over the world, creating an opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences, enrich legal knowledge, and discuss ways of cooperation in order to develop and promote the legal profession and forge practical foundations for the development of legislation and other progressive measures. This year’s event will run until Nov. 4.
