Maj. Abdullah Al-Amri, spokesman of the civil defense, said eight firefighting teams were involved in putting out the blaze that hit the complex comprising 22 workshops including those of cars and carpentry.

Civil defense officers were able to contain the blaze before spreading to other workshops, the spokesman said. About 80 percent of the fire was under control until 9 p.m. when this report was filed.

Al-Amri said the injured worker has been taken to King Abdul Aziz Hospital for treatment. Civil defense has launched a probe into the incident.
