“This is a unique quiz program that offers a venue for Indian children in the six GCC countries to show off their skills and expertise  in order to win top positions and fabulous prizes,” Alwaye told the opening ceremony attended by nearly a thousand families and their children as well as several community leaders.

Professor Raynold, chairman of the reception committee, who presided over the ceremony commended Malarvadi’s constructive role in the society. "Malarvadi is doing a great job through this mega quiz at a time when evil forces try to inject venom in the minds of our children through the Internet. We have to extend all-out support to this group of goodness,” he told parents.

The mega quiz, led by well-known Indian quiz master G.S. Pradeep, is offering fabulous prizes worth 1.5 million rupees. It will be held in the 10 regions of Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Salalah and Muscat and in three categories — kids, sub-junior and junior.

The first stage will be held on Nov. 15-30 when children can join the contest through www.malarvadionline.com. Those who get a set percentage of marks in the objective type online exam will be selected for the second stage, which will take place in 50 centers on Dec. 9.

The first three mega quiz winners will receive Rs100,000, Rs75,000 and Rs50,000 cash prizes.  "Those who win first and second positions at regional level contests will qualify for the GCC-level contest," said C.K. Najeeb, general coordinator. The mega final will be on Dec. 23.
