The company, which recorded a huge number of subscribers during last year’s Haj season, said its network on the eighth day of Dul Hijjah in Mina had an increase of 30 percent and 10 percent international and local calls, respectively.

Hamoud Al-Ghobaini, VP, corporate communication and PR, Mobily, assured that the technical preparations that Mobily has approved in the holy sites are working perfectly and have managed the flow of calls and data during Tarweeiah day without any obstructions.

He pointed out that the two international switchboards facilitated the pilgrims’ calls to their beloved ones in other countries, as they have an enormous capacity for calls. Al-Ghobaini also said that Mobily’s network has comprehended the huge flow of data in the holy sites due to the widespread use of smartphones among the pilgrims.

Mobily adopts highest standards in building its infrastructures, with a high flexibility that can co-work with the technology developments in the future.

As part of its social responsibilities, Mobily is distributing bottled water, bags and umbrellas among the pilgrims through its outlets at the holy sites, which have helped the pilgrims.
