Around 16,000 students reside in the United Kingdom and this figure does not include their companions.

For some students, celebrating Eid Al-Adha away from home created homesickness. Others found comfort in celebrating with their friends, while some found contentment and closeness in the student organized events in the United Kingdom’s different cities or in the reception the Saudi Embassy holds every year.

The Saudi community decided to bring its culture, traditions, and heritage to the United Kingdom during this blessed day. The elected Saudi Student Clubs organized a number of massive events to ease the feelings of yearnings of the day for all different age groups.

The Saudi Student Club in Cardiff headed by Abdulrahman Al-Tuwaijri organized an event that witnessed the participation of more than 300 people including children, women and men.

Children’s activities included face-painting and henna art for girls. The events included a lot of contests and entertainment, including a poetry competition for the audience.

The Saudi student clubs’ efforts in Cardiff, London, Manchester, and many other cities unites the Saudis and creates a solid strong family, bringing together people from different parts of the Kingdom.

Such events only reassure the families and the leadership back home that the sponsored students will return to the homeland more motivated, ambitious, and more successful.

The events, which required a great deal of work and determination, demonstrate the students’ will to achieve their aspired goals.
