- JEDDAH: The Saudi Telecom Company (STC) has honored the family of Farman Ali Khan, the Pakistani youth who drowned after saving 14 lives during the November 2009 Jeddah floods.
Farman’s family members were among the 1,400 pilgrims invited by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah to perform Haj as his guests. In coordination with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, a ceremony was held to honor Farman’s relatives on the day of Eid Al-Adha. Abdulaziz Al-Shuwaish, STC's general manager for sales, attended the event. The Kingdom posthumously honored Farman with King Abdul Aziz Medal of the First Order in recognition of his heroic deeds on that fateful day.
