Abdolfattah Soltani was arrested in September on charges of anti-government activities and has since been held in Tehran’s notorious Evin prison.

Maede Soltani told The Associated Press on Saturday that her father, who co-founded a human rights group with Iranian Nobel Peace Prize laureate Shirin Ebadi, “has no chance of getting a fair trial in Iran.” Soltani says “we need international pressure to secure his release.”

The lawyer also represented the family of Zahra Kazemi, a Canadian of Iranian origin who died in July 2003, 17-days after she was detained for taking photographs outside Tehran’s Evin prison.
