The meeting was also attended by Princess Ameerah Al-Taweel, vice chairwoman of the Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation.

Mateparae expressed his condolences to Prince Alwaleed on the recent death of Crown Prince Sultan. In addition, Mateparae thanked the prince for his recent donation through the Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation to victims of a recent devastating earthquake that struck New Zealand.

He also extended an invitation to Prince Alwaleed to visit the country in the near future.

Earlier this year, the prince received the Gerry Brownlee, Leader of the New Zealand House of Representatives and Minister of Economic Development and Energy Resources.

During their meeting, the pair discussed a number of issues and ways to further strengthen economic relations between their respective countries. Also on the agenda were discussions on investment issues. Brownlee invited Prince Alwaleed to seek investment opportunities in the country, an idea welcomed by the prince.

The Prince’s investments in New Zealand through KHC are in the financial sector through Citigroup.
