He said the conference would be addressed by three top government officials — the health minister, Human Rights Commission President Bandar Al-Aiban and Deputy Justice Minister Muhammad Al-Fayyum.

Al-Dakheel said that the ministry is organizing the conference as part of its effort to inform and educate officials and workers in the health care sector about the importance of patient relations in serving patients at health care facilities and to introduce the latest developments in the field to them.

The two-day conference to be held at Al-Faisaliah Hotel in Riyadh will be qualifying its attendants with 14 credit hours of continuous medical education (CME). It will be tackling a host of critical issues related to patient relations as almost a new specialty either from the academic or practical perspective.

The issues include: The experience of MoH in patient relations, reaching excellence in management and delivery of health care, health IT and patient relations, planning and developing patient-friendly health care facilities, linking health care with hospitality, and patient education and responsibilities linked with physician-patient relationship in addition to a number of workshops.
