Prince Fahd also named Muhammad bin Ahmed Aabid general supervisor of the airport's expansion project. Both Aba Al-Arry and Aabid thanked Prince Fahd and Faisal Al-Sugair, deputy chairman of GACA, for the appointment.

The new airport director said he would work for improving services to the millions of its passengers. Aabid said his appointment reflected the prince's desire to implement the massive KAIA expansion project in accordance with the plan.

Aba Al-Arry was director general of the central administration for aviation security at GACA before the new appointment. He has worked at KAIA's various departments for 15 years from 1982. He holds a master's degree in aviation sciences from an American university.

Aabid, the new in charge for airport expansion, holds a degree in civil engineering from a US university. He had supervised the implementation of the new King Abdullah Airport in Jazan.
