- The Noodle House is an energetic casual dining restaurant where chefs prepare sweet-smelling Southeast Asian dishes over an open flame and in full view of the guests and people passing by.
Located on the second floor of Centria Mall — Riyadh’s top rank location — overlooking Olayah Street, it has a spectacular view, especially at night when the twinkling lights of the city create a real feel-good factor that stimulates more than just the taste buds. It gives an appetite for life as well as good food and sight.
It is impossible not to be drawn to the energetic atmosphere of the restaurant thanks to its location, which is a major attraction for families and female shoppers. The Noodle House seats 140 diners and has both a single and a family section.
Their dishes are inspired by Southeast Asian cities such as Hong Kong, Shanghai, Bangkok and Jakarta. Diners will find a great selection of traditional appetizers, main dishes and deserts that reflect authentic Asian fusion, created by The Noodle House’s head chefs. Examples are dim sum, a Chinese dish of small steamed or fried savory dumplings containing various fillings, and wok-fried noodles. “Our Riyadh menu is somehow unique and different than the one in Dubai. We share the signature dishes with them, but we have a number of our own,” said head chef Hadi Nurmansyah. “We update our menu almost twice a year; we upgrade our old dishes and add new ones to the menu for people to experiment and enjoy,” he added.
The food at The Noodle House is easy on the eye and exciting for the stomach. Their dishes come in large portions that enable diners to share their food with one another. All dishes are attractively composed and meticulously garnished.
For appetizers, the chicken satay with peanut dipping sauce is a great blend of sweet and chili that reflects Malaysian cousin. The Chinese chicken salad is a great choice for those who like it really sweet and extremely spicy — the salad is cold but the chicken is warm, which enables the diner to explore different temperatures in each bite.
As for the specialties, The Noodle House offers a huge variety of beef, chicken, lamb, fish, prawns and duck. The sweet and sour chicken is a good choice for everyone. The dish consists of pan-fried chicken cubes served with a sweet and sour sauce and pineapple cubes.
Another excellent choice is the Singaporean black pepper beef, which is prepared with lean beef strips, mixed vegetables and black pepper sauce.
The Singaporean roasted duck is as terrific as it should be. It is presented with a zesty sauce and thinly cooked pancake to enable diners to wrap it the way they like it. Diners have the choice between three sizes: a whole duck, half or a quarter.
The best part of this restaurant is the wok-fried noodles. There is an assortment of fresh, hot and delightfully cooked noodles that are mixed with meat, vegetables, or even both. Make sure to include this to your next meal if you haven’t already, as these are signature items at The Noodle House. The Shanghai beef noodles are highly recommended if you are craving that extra zest.
A great selection of fried or steamed rice is also available. For those who have a sweet tooth, there is a selection of delicious desserts, such as chocolate Sumatra, coconut fried bananas, sticky bean doughnuts, and fried ice cream.
The Noodle House’s interior and the ambiance are oriental. At the entrance there are wooden doors for both the single and family sections, and visitors will see an open kitchen where cooks are busy preparing delicious meals. Diners will be greeted by smiling staff and waiters who will guide them to their selected seat, from bench style seating to secluded little tables and chairs.
The Noodle House is the flagship restaurant of Jumeirah Restaurants. Launched in 2002, they now have franchised ten restaurants in the U.A.E., Kuwait, Egypt, Oman and Qatar. Soon new branches will open across the Middle East, Europe, and Asia.
