John Tavares, Milan Jurcina, David Ullstrom and Matt Moulson — the NHL’s first star of last week — also scored for New York. Ullstrom’s goal was his first in the NHL. Al Montoya made 23 saves.

The Islanders are 4-1-2 in their past seven games.

Martin St. Louis gave Tampa Bay a 1-0 lead, but the Islanders led 3-1 before the first period ended.

In St. Louis, David Backes scored St. Louis’ second straight power-play goal, and the Blues broke out of a 2-for-39 slump with the man advantage in a victory against Detroit.

Alex Steen had a power-play goal in the second period, and Brian Elliott made 27 saves for the Blues, 9-2-3 since coach Ken Hitchcock replaced the fired Davis Payne. The Blues also beat the Red Wings in Hitchcock’s first game on Nov. 15.

In Winnipeg, Alberta, Ondrej Pavelec made 39 saves, and Bryan Little scored the go-ahead goal in the third period as Winnipeg beat Boston.

The Bruins lost in regulation for the first time since Oct. 29, ending a 15-game stretch in which they earned 29 of a possible 30 points.

The Jets (12-11-4) moved above .500 for the first time this season, and have won six of seven home games.

Little scored 94 seconds after Shawn Thornton tied the game for Boston.

In Toronto, David Clarkson scored twice, including the winning goal 2:40 into overtime to lift New Jersey over Toronto.

Ilya Kovalchuk also scored for the Devils, who got 31 saves from Martin Brodeur.

Phil Kessel netted his 17th goal for Toronto, and Matt Frattin also scored for the Leafs. James Reimer made 23 saves.

Kovalchuk and Clarkson scored power-play goals in the first period to give New Jersey a 2-0 lead.

In Montreal, Rick Nash’s shootout goal lifted Columbus over Montreal.

Curtis Sanford was perfect in the tiebreaker, turning aside David Desharnais, Max Pacioretty and Brian Gionta. Gionta scored a goal with 1:21 left in regulation to send the game to overtime.

Andrei Kostitsyn scored with 1.5 seconds left in the first to draw Montreal even at 1.

R.J. Umberger had a goal and an assist, and Vinny Prospal also scored for Columbus, which had lost three of four.

In Anaheim, California, Bobby Ryan’s awkward shot glanced off Drew Doughty’s shin and past Jonathan Quick with 48.8 seconds to play, and Anaheim beat Los Angeles for the Ducks’ first victory under new coach Bruce Boudreau.

Jonas Hiller made 37 saves for the Ducks, who won for just the fourth time in 22 games with a fortuitous bounce for Ryan.

Ryan and Corey Perry scored first-period goals for the Ducks, who have blown 2-0 leads in each of their first three games under Boudreau.

In San Jose, California, Mikko Koivu and Pierre-Marc Bouchard scored late in the first period and Matt Hackett made 34 saves to win in his NHL debut as Minnesota topped San Jose.

Hackett replaced Josh Harding 71 seconds in and helped the Wild win their fifth straight on the road and fifth overall. Minnesota won for the 12th time after giving up the first goal.

Joe Pavelski scored just 1:00 in for the Sharks, who have lost four of five.

In Nashville, Tennessee, Keith Yandle scored with 1:45 remaining to give Phoenix a win against Nashville.

The Coyotes won their second straight game. The Predators have dropped six of eight.

Ray Whitney and Taylor Pyatt also scored for Phoenix. Jack Hillen and Shea Weber had the Predators’ goals.

With the teams skating 4-on-4, Shane Doan fired a pass from the right circle to Yandle skating through the slot. Yandle corralled the puck and put it past goalie Pekka Rinne for his fourth of the season.

In Calgary,  Alberta, Brendan Morrison had two goals and two assists as Calgary edged Carolina.

Jarome Iginla had two goals and an assist in Calgary’s highest scoring game of the season. Lee Stempniak scored and had an assist, and Rene Bourque and Mikael Backlund also scored.

Eric Staal scored twice for Carolina, and Jiri Tlusty scored the Hurricanes’ first goal of the night on a penalty shot. Chad LaRose, Tuomo Ruutu and Tim Brent also scored.

In Vancouver, Daniel Sedin scored three times, Cory Schneider had 20 saves in relief of Roberto Luongo, and Vancouver beat Colorado.

Jannik Hansen had two goals for the Canucks, who sealed their seventh victory in eight games with four third-period goals in a span of 4 1/2 minutes. Alex Edler’s power-play goal at 9:40 gave Vancouver a 6-0 lead.
