- JEDDAH: More than 700,000 Saudi young men and women are qualified to receive a monthly unemployment allowance of SR2,000, the Human Resource Development Fund (HRDF), an affiliate of the Labor Ministry, said on Monday.
"About 80 percent of applicants qualified for the allowance are women," said Ibrahim Al-Moaiqel, director general of the fund. "We have informed all applicants through SMS to follow the result of their applications on the website: www.hafiz.gov.sa," he said.
Al-Moaiqel said disqualified applicants can contact 920011559 to know why their applications were rejected. Applications of 145,000 men and women were incomplete.
"We'll deposit the amount in the accounts of beneficiaries on Dec. 31," he said. Hafiz would provide necessary training to Saudi jobseekers to get them employed as quickly as possible.
"The basic objective of Hafiz program is to convert jobseekers into an effective workforce that would contribute to the Kingdom's development plans," he said.
