Hail governor, Prince Saud bin Abdul Mohsen, recently formed a committee that started a campaign against parking violation in the neighborhood, said Col. Bader Bin Dawi Al-Utaibi, Manager of the Hail Traffic Department.

He said parking violation disturbs people and puts their safety in danger, especially for children.

For speeding and reckless driving, Al-Utaibi said the police would apply one of three procedures.  The vehicle could be detained for 15 days, adding SR1,000 as a penalty, before transferring the case to court.

A vehicle could be detained for one month, imposing SR1,500 as a penalty, before transferring the case to court.  Lastly, SR2,000 could be imposed, while detaining the car and transferring the case to court.  Al-Utaibi said the traffic police would try to offer the public the best possible levels of safety, and increase traffic flexibility in addition to having the secret traffic police monitor around schools for added safety.
