Three brigades took part in the recently-concluded exercises — the mechanical brigade of Imam Mohammed Bin Saud, the mechanical brigade of Prince Saad Abdurrahman, and the mechanical brigade of King Abdul Aziz.

Accompanied by his deputy for the National Guard, Prince Miteb arrived at the area where the exercises were held and was received by the commanders of the different units and senior officers of the National Guard. Apache Helicopters, Black Hawk planes, land forces, and forces trained for medical evacuation demonstrated their skills and their support for the land forces already going through their paces.

The concluding ceremony that marked the end of the exercises, began with recitation from the Holy Qur’an. After that, Gen. Abdurrahman bin Mohammed Al-Ammaj spoke on behalf of the participating units.

He welcomed Prince Miteb and said that the National Guard was reaping the fruits of these military drills, by becoming optimum ready for any challenges. He confirmed that such exercises are just one stage of the development achieved in the National Guard. Clearly, the National Guard has become a supporting force for the armed forces, he added.

In the exercises, many military units — air force, land forces, and medical evacuation — took part. Also officers from the Ministry of Defense took part in the process of evaluation. Gen. Al-Ammaj stressed that all participants in this exercise have fared extremely well. Prince Miteb conferred certificates on the winning brigades and battalions.

Prince Miteb, in his speech, conveyed to all participants the greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and Crown Prince Naif, deputy premier and interior minister.

He confirmed that the king was taking keen interest in this exercise and that he has asked the prince to provide him with constant report about the drill. This indeed indicates the scope and degree of the king’s interest in his sons in the armed forces.

He reminded all present that it was the king who supported the establishment of this project and its development. He said he was proud of the achievements of his units and is upbeat about the boosted morale of members of the National Guard.

Prince Miteb hoped that future exercises would be of the same advanced level if not higher and thanked all those who were behind the exercises.

Prince Miteb also paid a visit to the headquarters of the operational medical hospital that supported the drills.

Prince Badr bin Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Jalawi,  the governor of Al-Ahsa, and Prince Mishaal bin Badr from the National Guard of the Eastern sector, and officers and senior officials of the National Guard, police director of Al-Ahsa and heads of governmental departments attended the concluding ceremony.
