According to Al-Madinah daily newspaper, the man had just left a bank with the large sum in a bag, when two Africans attacked him.

He resisted and fought back with one hand, as the other held on to the bag. The man took a number of punches and was able to throw back some.

Surprised by the unexpected resistance, one of the attackers fled the scene, leaving his accomplice in the tight grip of the Saudi, who called the police.

The attacker told the police that he would follow bank customers and rob them. A police spokesman advised citizens and residents to use e-banking for large transactions.
