In 2010, Almajdouie transported six units of evaporators for Shuwaihat, S2 IWPP Project, Abu Dhabi.

By moving this evaporator, Almajdouie broke its previous record as this evaporator weighs total 4,891 tons.

Almajdouie used Self Propelled Modular Trailer (SPMT) 172 axle lines, 688 double width tires with a capacity of 6,680 tons to carry 4,891 tons.

This included months of preparation to move this huge unit from Ras Al-Khair Jetty to the foundation. It included planning and engineering work.

Almajdouie will be moving a total of 8 evaporators. The first has already reached the site.

A team of professionals executed the challenging operation.

Doosan won the $1.76 billion order from Saudi Arabia’s Saline Water Conversion for the plant project and Almajdouie was tasked with the overall on-shore activities for the world largest evaporator, built by Doosan Heavy Industries of Korea.

The next evaporator is expected in February.
