- RIYADH: Defense Minister Prince Salman on Tuesday met with foreign military attaches accredited to the Kingdom and emphasized Saudi Arabia's desire to establish peaceful relations with other countries.
"Saudi Arabia is a peaceful and stable country and seeks peace and stability for all countries. We need cooperation to make our people happy and protect our mutual interests,” he said.
Prince Salman added: “Saudi Arabia’s strategic position between Asia and Africa has made it a friend of all countries in the world, and followers of all religious faiths.”
The minister also pointed out that the Islamic faith instructs Muslims to establish good relations with other faiths and their followers.
Brig. Abdi Hassan Muhammad of Somalia spoke on behalf of the military attaches and congratulated Prince Salman on his new appointment as defense minister, following the death of Prince Sultan.
Prince Salman also met with the ambassador of Cote d’Ivoire and discussed issues of mutual concern.
