- JAZAN: A Saudi citizen from Jazan accidentally discovered he had 147 commercial registrations in his name in Riyadh and Hofuf without knowing anything about them, local daily Al-Madinah reported Tuesday.
The man, Ibrahim Ahmed Abbas, came to know this fact from the branch of the Ministry of Commerce in Jazan last July, which he approached to obtain a new trading license.
"I have never tried to obtain a commercial license from anywhere outside Jazan. I have no idea how I got this large number of trading licenses issued in Riyadh and Hofuf in my name," he said.
Abbas asked the ministry to check how all these licenses were issued in his name and to punish the culprits. He said when he checked with the ministry last September, he found that the licenses had come down to 141, to 76 in October and to five in January this year.
"Today there are four trading licenses in my name about which I do not know anything left," he said.
