This confirmation is based on various tests that were conducted after Abdul Latif Jameel (ALJ), Toyota’s authorized distributor in Saudi Arabia, received a report that a customer was unable to stop his Land Cruiser 200 when driving in Hafr Al Baten, a northeastern city in the Kingdom.

Following the incident, various Saudi Arabia authorities such as Ministry of Commerce, Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO), Motor Vehicles Periodic Inspection Station, Traffic Department, ALJ and Toyota’s Jeddah Liaison Office (JLO) and the police, conducted tests between Jan. 8-10 to investigate the matter. The tests showed that the vehicle operated normally.  Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) also tested the cruise control system on the Land Cruiser in Japan between Jan. 13-15 and the results were completely normal as well, and no malfunctions were detected.
