According to a report submitted to the crown prince, the department carried out 6.67 million registrations in the centralized civil register including the issue and renewal of identity cards and duplicate cards, issue of civil status statements, issue of family register and birth, death, marriage and divorce registrations, in addition to registering changes of job category or nationality. The precise number of registrations made by the Civil Status Department was available with the help of the technology employed in all its offices.

The department has also extended its working hours, opened new offices, and sent out its mobile units especially to serve people with special needs. Visitors can make advance online bookings for appointments to meet officials at www.moi.gov.sa.

Prince Naif also commended Finance Minister Ibrahim Al-Assaf on the achievements of the Agricultural Development Fund (ADF) after reading its annual report for 2010. The report said ADF issued SR753 million worth of agricultural loans. The fund also supported the growth of water resources. Since its launch in 1965, the ADF has given as of 2010 SR42.38 billion in 436,268 loans, SPA reported on Tuesday.
